OBAMA AGENCIES STOCKPILING AMMO.....

Hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo have been recently ordered by multipole federal agencies (NOAA, Social Security Administration, etc).....the orders specify the individual local offices that shipments are to be delivered to .....

Why ? For What Purpose?

The U.S. Army’s Operating Concept 2016-2028: Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland

Or maybe they will ship the Billion + rounds to Al Qaeda or to the Sinaloa Cartel.

Or maybe all of the above.

All of those offices are just cover for where the 40 Cal hollow point ammo is going. You don't use hollow point ammo for target practice. This is a practice the government has used for years. It will be reshipped to some one else.

2 wars later, and brass is at a premium, prices have nowhere to go but up, having a reserve insures we have what we need when we need i,t and at a price lower than it could be later if we could buy it al all.

Herb did the same thing with jet fuel when petrol prices was climbing through the roof, and SWA was about the only profitable airline on the runways.
We were short 380 ammo a couple of years ago and it took several months to recover. Why not buy in bulk. Let the military purchase in bulk and transfer to other government agency's. I recall 223 ammo was out of stock and I wound up with 3000 rounds because I normally order it lots of 1000. I ordered than reordered to finally get all 3000 in the same shipment. Scared the hell out of the UPS guy or who ever delivered it. I have probably 3000 rounds of both 30 cal carbine and 30.06 for the Garands. Still the use of hollow points for target practice is strange.

Thriftiness is not a hallmark of government.
Only LE uses .40 as far as I know.
I traded my 40 off for a shotgun as the 9mm is more of a standard. The FBI switched to the 40 because the knock down power is a little better. The 45 is a handful for lady agents but for knock down power it is the best. With the 9mm I have more rounds in the grip a double tap to the upper torso is just as deadly.

I always understood LE could access even higher +P rounds otherwise unavailable so I don't know why they've all abandoned 9mm in favor of .40.

The Sig 229, my personal favorite, was designed in .40 specifically as the request of Texas State LE to use as their issued weapon.

As far as .45 I can't stand it. Maybe in a revolver but the rounds are so short I'd prefer a .357 or even .38 special.

You only need as much ammo on hand as you will need for the rest of your life.

Buy reloading supplies now. Stock up on what you may need. My problem is the city has a limit on how much powder I can store in my house. There is no limit on how much ammo I have. You can purchase12 GA brass to reload many times. My Carry weapon is a Bond derringer with the 45 colt/410 barrel. It is loaded with the Winchester PDX1 410 Defense round. It is good out to 10 feet about what you could expect to hit with a derringer.I don't fire off several hundred rounds with it as your hand takes a beating with it.
