Referral system on the forums?

Just a lurkerdude here that figures it is time to ask a question about how this board works. I probably should have figured it out by now, but I havent....hence the question. ...

Can someone give me a cliff notes guide to how the referrals work on this board. I notice when I look at the profile of a provider that there is a referral count that show. At one point I wonderes if that number was specific to my id/alias, but I'm pretty sure it isnt. If it's not, it looks like referrals are pretty rare and maybe a feature of the board not really used?

Lastly...is there any way for me to know/see if a provider I had seen has given an ok or referral specific to me through the board?

Just trying to get an idea of if any of that stuff is useful or meaningful to me.

Thx

I'm not completely positive, but I believe that the referrals have to do with how many members a provider has successfully gotten to join ECCIE, perhaps from a link placed elsewhere or by invitation. There is no formal ECCIE "okay system" for references or vouches that I'm aware of, my dear. P411 fulfills that function offsite.

Thanks for the explanation...and the link to the thread on the subject of referrals/ok's for clients.
