Democrats Appoint A "Chairman of Heartland Engagement"

Somebody in the DNC took a good look at the Electorial Map and noticed all of that Red between the east and West Coast.

The solution. Appoint a "Chairman of Heartland Engagment.

Us Representative Cheri Bustos is their choice. Her job? To get the Democrat's message out to middle America.

Here is a look at her intruductionary statement.

"I want all Americans to join Nancy Peloci, Maxine Waters, Senator Chuck Schumer and myself in the promoting of our agenda of taking guns from law abiding citizens, promoting abortion as a viable means of birth control, raising taxes on those who work so we can buy the votes of those that don't, and turning America into a Third World Socialist Shit Hole by letting anyone with a pulse into the Country.

That should do the trick.

The Democrats need to learn that the problem is not that they can't get their message out. The problem is, they have.

That is not the message. I don't think they even need one at this point. Trump sucks so bad that really you can sit back and watch him implode on himself over and over. Worst president ever.

Keep telling yourself..."I don't see how Trump got elected, no one I know voted for him" in that liberal echo chamber you inhabit. Dems thinking they have to have a "reach out program" for "the heartland" like they were some splinter special interest group is EXACTLY why they lost, and continue to lose.

I'm surprised they didn't pick Al Sharpton for this position.
Democrats have lost the messaging war. They had a chance to distinguish their platform from the Republicans but that effort failed to materialize. The Republicans' twin slogans -lower taxes and less regulation- resonates with a society that has come to worship money and ostentatious luxury. "It's the economy, stupid" worked for Bill Clinton, and his personal level of greed was/is similar to the fat cats who set the agenda for Republicans. Karl Rove was an effective message maker, with his roots in defending cigarettes and the tobacco cartel. He was equally effective defending big oil. The greed culture is now fully entrenched in government, and pervasive throughout the private and public sectors. This so-called "heartland effort" will fall flat because it lacks traction among regular people, who now are compelled by economic issues almost exclusively. Our country suffers from worrisome levels of cancer, obesity, diabetes, drug addiction, and violence. Yet we continue to emphasize issues related to money, and creating more and more opportunities to make more and more money. The evolution of capitalism is well underway. The Democrats have no answer to solving the pressing issues just noted. The Republicans have shown no interest in solving these problems. Look at their health care proposal. On this 4th of July the state of the nation is problematic. Our nation is populated by countless people who want to do good for themselves and others. But those who lead us are the predatory few who exemplify greed and self-centeredness, and they, unfortunately, are gaining more and more influence. Our gold-plated president has NOTHING in common with the regular folks who support him. His messages are a smoke screen, frosted by skillful and distracting public relations messaging. We fall for this bullshit. The Democrats are inept. The Republicans are underhanded. Welcome to America, 2017.

Nice rant, muy loco. I particularly liked this line:

"The greed culture is now fully entrenched in government..."

Very true... but not in the way you and Bernie Sanders would have us believe!

What is greed? It's one of the Seven Deadly Sins, right? Greed is usually described as an insatiable desire for wealth. If that's true, whose appetite better warrants the term "insatiable" - taxpayers who want to keep their hard-earned money? Or politicians who want to take it from us to feed their uncontrolled spending?

Think about it. You may have to reconsider your greed message. We don't want you to turn into a bitter, angry, envious and resentful old fuck like Comrade Bernie. Most Americans understand that the government is arrogant about how it takes and mis-spends their money. So be careful who you call greedy. It might backfire on you.

I am watching both parties disappoint at this point in history. It's a good time to review the foundations of our revolution. It's a good time to assess if we are making improvements to the nation's well-being. All that said, I celebrate today for being a resident in a nation that even as it struggles continues to provide a relatively safe and rewarding way of live. Most of us are bound by a pursuit of goodness, I want to believe.

there is such a thing as good greed and bad greed.

good greed is self interest is involved and everyone benefits.

bad greed is the absence of self interest and you are screwed.
