I think I understand your position. You believe that the federal government should spend more money to keep the impoverished in poverty than to find ways of creating jobs to get them out of poverty.
Rather than to create job opportunities so that people can work and earn a decent living you would rather just take the money from taxpayers and give it to them to ensure their dependence on the federal government.

You are right, 2Dogs. Remember, dependent people are dependable voters. The last thing government wants is for people to understand they can make it without government assistance. Then government would lose a lot of its power, and (shudder!) they might not be re-elected! It's about money and power. It is not about doing what is right.

This is why we are constantly fed the propaganda on a daily basis. This is why the same old tired "issues" are rolled out at election time to divide the electorate and the candidates along with the electorate fall into the same tired routine believing they are making a difference.
Then come the fools that believe that when a government legislates a persons rights that they gain more freedom while failing to realize that they have just given up control of their rights and that they are now the property of the government.
