What do you guys think about the Dr. Seuss scandal?
They are no longer printing six books of his mostly the older ones due to them being racist inappropriate and probably some other words. And yet you can go and buy the book Mein Kampth (spelling)?
eBay has decided to not let sellers sell the books anymore either. Is this ever going to end are we going to have any books left what happened to freedom of speech!!

The government didn't ban these books, the company that owns them decided to stop printing them. Ebay is also a private company that can decide what is and is not sold on its platform. A quick eBay search also shows you can't by "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler there as well. (You can, however, buy plenty of books about said book by other authors)
If you *really* need a children's book with the word "Chinaman" or illustrations that make Africans look like jungle animals there's a whole internet outside of Ebay that can sell it to you... such is the "free market." Hell, there's probably a whole internet full of free copies of them if you take the time to look.

Times are changing. The name calling and prejudice of that day was the norm. My parents raised me to know who I am. So when there’s name calling and prejudice involved, I laugh inside because that’s all they’ve got. Their repertoire is limited. So all the being up in arms about it one way or the other, it’s really not impacting any of us. I know I’m not suffering or benefitting from it one bit. So to each his/her own.

We're constantly evolving, but the change in social mores seems to be accelerating at a dizzying pace. Or maybe I'm getting older. And while I have curtailed my truly tasteless jokes, I'm still evolving. What people need to know is that dialogue is more correct than isolation, whether you are being politically correct or rebelling against it.
And I think it's important to think and act carefully before exercising Ex Post Facto on changing social norms. If we cannot address past transgressions without summarily blacklisting, where do we stand as a society?
