Would legalizing prostitution help the US Economy?

Yeah.......I think so.......I am a libertarian by nature.........and so I concur with a lot of what the owner of the Midnight Ranch in Nevada is proposing ........but, you can check it out and make your own conclusions. It wont change the entitilement mentatlity that seems to be sweeping across the country, "I deserve this, and I think I am owed this....' is going to wreck this country one of these days.......but, we also have to apply some logic, and straight thinking towards some of these issues, and decriminalizing the pay for play, or sex industry would be a good first step. I do think that legalizing prostitution would not only bring in a huge revenue for our struggling economy, but it would clean up the profession. It doesn't take a genius to see that if they were to regulate and tax the providers, it would bring in a huge amount of revenue... It would also clean up alot of the problems affiliated with the ~Industry~ ((human trafficing ~ pimps ~ std's ~ drugs ~ ect))

With the threat of LE removed, I am sure you could expand your client base [or not].

I know this is like preaching to the choir..........but it was in a recent Money Magazine article, and there are some vocal proponents........hey, look at Colo and Wash and what they recently did.....just throwing it out there........

If you think simply making it legal would bring the US economy back from the brink and drugs/pimps/stds/trafficers would just disappear you are delusional. There will still be placed like backpage, ladies will still provider outside legal areas, gents will continue to go for the cheapest available (these crimes will continue or increase most likely), ladies and gents will still have STDs, and folks will still be addicted to drugs.

Making it legal is a step, but it isn't a magic wand fixing everything.

Also look at the new crimes in those areas. Wasn't a grow house broken into and everyone inside murdered? Yeah, that worked out very well no? Grow houses now have to submit forms to the government which become public record. Again thumbs up there. Fixing what is broken is going to take years, and processes need to be put into place long before anything becomes legal.

I don't think escorting will become legal in my lifetime.
Who's going to disagree with this lol we are either hookers or hobbiests on here so we are all going to say yes legalized it
Hope there would be price wars...
would be nice...

Sure, it would generate additional revenue if it was taxed. It could also be made safer if it was licensed, which would require regular health screenings. It also could help the safety of the ladies. It might help cut down on illegal sex trade.

But, there will still be a black market for it.

I am all for lower prices on anything.

Plus, how would it be taxed, by the transaction (just what percent would be reported for taxing) or by the yearly license where every woman would have to pay maybe $10 just for a license to have sex. I'll bet there would be a lot of girls who would refuse to pay for either option.

The real reason the it is not legal is because the majority of women are wives, and they want to limit the opportunity of the husbands to have occasional options.

The reason you can charge for pussy is because it is illegal.

I don't know about the lower prices. I guess it depends on how big the supply is. We know demand will probably be high. My experience with the legal brothels in Nevada is that their prices are higher than what you will find available from many local Las Vegas providers.
