This punk just stole my phone. How do I track it? I don't wanna call the law but I'm about to. I'm pissed.
Nasty bastard. And abusive.
What do I do?

Type of phone?

A learned lesson would be to install such apps on the next phone.

Sorry it happened. Been there before. But I was lucky enough to find mine through other means (selling on CL.)
JJ,

There are several ways to track a phone. Simplest is to use a installed tracking app. Another way is to use an external app that you can download then track your phone by number. Is the phone an iPhone or android? if iPhone then you can use the iCloud site to track it. If it is an android, you can download the app android device manager and it can track the last known map location of the phone.

.....all of the above are true. .... but the easiest way ask (just a punt) the NSA .... they knows where all of our phones locations ...they track us every day for our own national protection. ..cause we may be terrorist.
Did a member from here steal your phone at a session? If not, this is not an alert.

Well he got my number from my ad here so...
Any info on this "abusive" guy.
An alert is justified anytime a member, during a typical hobbyist/provider encounter, finds themselves in a situation or facing circumstances which are not typical of a normal hobbyist/provider experience and could not be considered a "normal, accepted risk" to those who participate in the hobby

"A pimp/hobbiest/provider came out of the closet, busted me in the nose, and took off with my phone and/or wallet"

That IS alert-worthy.

This punk just stole my phone. How do I track it?

Is NOT alert Worthy

Unless you can tell us if this was an ECCIE member who took your phone in a session, his handle, and if he's using your phone to out you or other board members, this is not an alert.

Reading your statement "any punk" could mean to the rest of us some punk in a grocery store or on a bus took your phone. "abusive" could mean he called you a "bitch" or any other word and/or physically harmed you as he stole your phone. There is nothing in this alert constitute a hazard or danger to anyone in the community. If it is a trac/hobby phone, buy another.

Anyone can find your number on this site.

You need to give us something to go on and justify this as a true alert. If not, it will be removed.
Not an Alert. Moved to COED.

If you have a gmail account and had it on your phone it may show up on Google location. If you never disabled it, it will automatically track you until you disable it.
