Most times S.O.'s and family has gone ahead a day or 2 to prepare for the big day and the men are tying up loose ends @ the office and travel in on that day.
So if you are in a great midpoint you do well.
Like say; Abilene which people have to drive right through from or to get to Dallas from Midland or El Paso Even Houston.
That is the whole reason I chose Abilene as home base is the foot traffic from The big cities to the Oil Cities on a daily not just holidays.
Abilene is a great PIT STOP So was hoping the stop they choose to PIT IN WOULD BE MINE. lol But this last year I have been on the road so darn much lol my plan has not been able to work as well. SO Glad to be back home it aint even funny.

Or.... Beaumont IS great too. That Houston to Louisiana commute or visa versa. BUSY BUSY BUSY ROAD.
Lubbock isn't too bad either New Mexico/Amarillo foot traffic is more than you think. When I am there I have a shit load of NM inquiries.
Travelers going any where at anytime of the year:.....
Most can lose an hr on the road with no questions asked, not get phone for a bit because of bad service connections etc etc.
Crucial travel hrs on that day are normally 3:00 A.m. to 11:00 A.m. and black Friday can be packed as well.
I will actually be in my kitchen from 3 a.m. with hot cocoa and whipping up tasty dishes for new or old friends to stop in and have a taste or two. I will make more than enough for a crowd and give the extra to the local homeless.
Tell me ahead of time your favorite dish and I will have it prepared.
Any other ladies cooking for new friends on that day or just cooking for family this year?
