Jazz thread!

Anybody here like jazz?

I'm not into a lot of traditional jazz. I get into some of Coltrane, Munk, Miles Davis, Winton Marsalis, but that's about it. Mostly contemporary jazz or fusion is my taste.

I'll post a few of my favorite artists and you can post yours.

Dude.... Love Diana Krall.... Always head downtown to Sambuca for drinks, cigars and jazz when in town.... Nice place to relax and scope out the local talent....

I think Esperanza is sexy as hell with that big-ass upright bass that's bigger than her. And she can play the hell out of it too!!

You have to check out Ben Webster if you like tenor sax and 50's jazz. IMHO the best ballad player of all time.

No pun intended.
A long long long time ago before the Target off Sawyer (I think) was built, a friend and I would drive over to The Big Fun Phone and quietly drink beer and share a smoke. I recall one night the artist was working in his studio listening to Thelonius Monk, my friend and I just sat on the hood of his car listening to the music for about an hour and wondering how high you have to be to make giant sculptures of presidents' heads and a giant old timey telephone with spectacles... good times!
