Liberal politicians crave power above all else. As the government gains power, the people lose freedom; it's a zero sum game. Thomas Jefferson said eternal vigilance is the price of freedom. It's not likely that the people will be vigilant in gaurding freedom, if they don't understand it's in constant jeopardy.
