International Women's Day

I would just like to wish everybody a happy International Women's Day!

International Women's Day is a national holiday in China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria. Not here but we can still celebrate women's rights and how far we have come...with time, sex workers will also have a day to celebrate how far they've come to decriminalize the work they do! (International Sex Worker Rights Day is March 3, btw.)

International Women's Day (IWD) was honored the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland in 1911. More than one million women and men attended IWD rallies campaigning for women's rights to work, vote, be trained, to hold public office and end discrimination...click here to read more about this special day!

I have quite a few international lady friends. Because this holiday isn't acknowledged in the US, I had mostly discounted it. That was several years ago, as I was told in no uncertain terms that this was an important event.

Now, I make sure to contact each one of them and personally wish them well on this day.
