Eater Magazine has a new article out this morning.
The 14 Best BBQ in KC
I've been in 13 of the 14 of the author's list at least a few times each, so I claim my points below are valid.
Apologies to Buck Tui in OP, for not visiting yet.
So my point is, what do you all think about the ranking of these bbq places that the article author has? Most she's spot on.
I think Q39 should be a few steps higher though as even she admits his burnt ends are preternaturally tender.
The Jone's Sisters still sell out, so get there early. Yes it's their rib tips.
When I'm over on the wrong side of the state line, lunch time, it's the sisters, or Slap's, or Joe's.
Chef J: Briskets. He's at the old stockyards, so what's more to say?
Jack Stack: The salted ham, and, of course, the cheesy corn.
Night Goat: Sunday BBQ brunch (after other Sunday brunch activities).
However, the author has a couple mistakes stating that some of the places are new. 2019 is not "new" and clearly 2014 is not. And she gives way to many folks credit for brisket. I'm not going to point out the two I disagree with.
In closing, I have two slabs of 20 lbs each of brisket for July 3rd and it's all pre-booked.
And yes, I already know the best tips in the BBQ game.
