What should I say?!!

Here is the deal...
Last August I had a legit career. Now, that book is closed and I am dedicating myself 100% to the hobby until I can fully return to school (long story short). The problem is that my family (parents, siblings) and friends are starting to seriously question me about what is it that I do or am going to do for a living. By nature, I'm a terrible liar, but I CANNOT, tell them that this is how I pay the bills. What should I do?!? The pressure is seriously building up!
Tell them that you are an entrepreneur and are working with a group of people to developing X product. You cannot tell anyone about it because there could be legal ramifications since your group is involved in a patent law suit with a large corporation.

The time that you take to meet people, is the time that you use to have meetings with your partners and / or associates.

Create a bunch of documents in your computer's desktop. Excel sheets/ word documents with impressive titles and save them on your computer (fill in documents that look complex and impressive). Password your computer and mobile devices with a unique password that is not relevant to anything that you do or have any ties with.

Remove any pics that display facial features/tatoos/everyday hairstyle/hair color/clothing that you wear everyday, etc. Anything that shows your personality, go the other way when you present yourself on this site.

If M.Marla points to your real life name, nickname, or identity; please ask for a name change (especially since you are so new, now is the time to do it).
And you better take lessons on lying. Don't want to be like Jim Carey in Liar Liar

Don't know what you did previously, but maybe you could say you are working with someone that is starting up a similiar business, but needs to keep things under wrap, until he/she is ready to roll the business out....just food for thought. No need to reinvent the wheel, just modify it, deal with what you know.

You can either tell them A. Marketing Assistant (not complete lie)
or B. Whatever you did or have done before for a living (lie)

Good look!

If school is the plan, simply tell them you have a student loan that is covering your tuition and living expenses. Avoid big purchases until you finish your education. And, I agree with the RW references above (name, body art, etc)

Good luck hottie.
Only you can determine what kind of story your family will buy into. But I'd suggest that you keep it very simple.

Here's my specific suggestion--if your family will buy it. You are a personal assistant to a businessman (or woman) who travels alot, gets lots of perks from hotels, restaurants, etc which he often passes on to you. Plus, of course, a fair salary.

I have one. She does not live in SA. She does everything for me via phone or internet. No office. Works from home.

Just so you know--she sets appointments, confirms them, makes all my travel arrangements, collects all of my receipts and gets my taxes done, among other things.

You can sell that. Right?

Good luck.
