Most people were pretty oblivious about women’s sports unless they or a child was involved. They were what they were, good competition for the girls but less of a spectator event because women simply don’t perform at such a high level as men, for obvious biological reasons.

What angers people is girls getting screwed over, forced to compete against a 6’5” dude with 20” biceps and a 5 o’clock shadow who did lousy against other guys, but dominates against girls. These poor girls practice their hearts out to shave fractions of a second off their times. All their hard work should be rewarded, or at least give them a fair chance, not be completely negated having to go up against someone they can’t possibly beat.

Then, for the cherry on top, they get to have him swing his junk in their face in the locker room.
