Anyone planning to go to Norleans for Mardi Gras?

Couple of local honeys are thinking about it so maybe a caravan in their future?

Been there and done that I have as a young (yes, younger than dirt I was) naval officer complete with wings. Wild time then and still wilder now, I am told.

Yes, I had my uniform on (most of the time - outdoors).

Only a few people asked if it was a "costume" but when they saw a virtual troop of usn's they figured we were real. At that point none of had to pay for any alcohol!

Much less drama.
I've actually been wanting to visit New Orleans. There is so much history there and the culture fascinates me (thinking voo doo). Lol yes I'm a nut for supernatural history.

MM - that culture best experienced without the excitement of Mardi Gras.

But I fully understand your desire.

That sounds like a good idea! My birthday is in the fall so perhaps a birthday trip is in order.
Mardis is definitely a blast! Best time is the last 4 or 5 days! Fat Tuesday is over the top.

Jazz Fest is another great drunken party.
