If you want nightlife near your hotel, you probably want to be downtown. Visiting ladies seem to congregate in other areas more often, though, and you'll get lower prices in other areas. The old airport has a couple decent places, and NW on Michigan or north on Meridian called Carmel has some decent places. Castleton and Fishers are popular, but Castleton is often hot. Beech Grove has a few lower end places and has been in the news a few times recently, so I'd avoid that area.
