Has anyone ever heard of this site: ASPDChat.net ? I met some nice guys from it,but now it says it has been suspended...
Just wondering what happened or if it was just a joke...

ASPD was around for a long time. But I think they shut down due to a bust.
I'll look and see if I can find the news link on the arrests at a meet & greet.
But it was sometime back.
I only recall it because the news media and police were chasing girls in stilettos down an alley.

ASPD was not shut as a result of a bust. It went under because its owners ran it into the ground. The bust you are referring to had no significant effect on the site and occurred well before the site went downhill.

Hmmmmm, I wasn't really sure on that. It was never really popular in this area.

I would suggest to the OP that ECCIE has a chat feature that appears to be very popular.

Is there a reason that there is only one room in the Chat area? Many PHP sites have multiple rooms for use by the membership. Is the structure of ECCIE limited, or is it just a design decision?

Based on some research - the Bust was in Houston and not related to the end of ASPD directly as Mokao stated. Used to travel from the coast a lot back then. Visited a number of Texas ladies in the big D, Weird Austin and the other corner of the golden triangle. Not sure how an ower can run a site into the ground, but I think there were technical issues, site crashes, and perhaps some staff issues? Would have to do some more research on that one. The was a touring lady for Austin up this way not long ago. I will see what she remembers about it when she comes back this way.

Anyway, I did a search on Chat and did not see a lot out there. This is one of the links. So Mokoa if this is not a good place to ask about chat design or if there is a discussion or background on it, let me know.

ASPD hacked?

Not sure exactly when, but earlier this evening apparently someone hacked ASPD. There is now just a screen with a racial epithet; no access to any of the content.
This may not be as big a disaster as in 2005; back then, not only was the site unavailable for awhile, but they hadn’t backed up the material, so they lost over a year of ads, discussions, reviews, etc. That was a huge blow to a lot of ladies’ business and to the clients’ ability to do research. The staff at ASPD has indicated recently that their data is backed up more effectively now, so it may not be a huge problem. As long as they restore access soon, that is. I’m not a tech guy, so I have no idea what all would be involved.

I know nothing more than that. Hell, I don’t even know the (alleged) details, that Jarod has alluded to a few times, of what was behind the 2005 crash. If I hear more information, I’ll post it, but being a hermit without many connections, I’m usually the last to hear.
As an editorial aside, I find actions like this appalling. No matter what a staff person may have done inappropriately, deliberately attacking the site doesn’t only hurt the staff member. In fact, it may not hurt the staff member much at all; it may mostly hurt Amber. But it also hurts the escorts and the clients who rely on that site. That someone would hurt them, just to get back at someone on staff/management he doesn’t like, is difficult to fathom

Although that is not germane to the topic of this thread, I will answer. Yes, most chat sites have multiple areas but the ECCIE chat area does not at this time. I do not know if that will change.
