Still a scam?

So, many of the ads from other sites lead to people asking for deposits or pre-payments through apps like CashApp or Zelle. Where I'm from, that money will be taken & I'll never hear from them again.

Are deposits & such the norm here? I'm seeing amounts as low as $20 or $50.
