I Miss George Carlin

He was almost always right. More of a prophet than a comic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bICwy...eature=related

Funniest guy ever. I read his book "Napalm & Silly Putty" about once a year, and laugh like it's the first time. Carlin was a freakin' genius.

When I was about 8 years old, I used to sit in my teenage sister's room and she would play "class clown" on her record player and we would laugh our asses off. My mom and dad would yell at her for exposing me to all those dirty words. My dad was a career army officer who actually had a good sense of humor, but could absolutely not tolerate that 'goddam hippie'.

About 25 years later in life, on my second trip to Las Vegas, i was staying at the Stardust (a few years before they blew it up) - smoking, drinking, gambling, chasing escorts. On my third and last day, i walked past the lobby of the theater in the casino and saw the posters... George Carlin was the headliner at the Stardust. I had no idea. I spent.. i think it was all of about 65 dollars on a second-row ticket and watched his show that night with a glass of vodka in my hand.

It's a shame when comics have a better understanding of our political systems then the pudits do.
