Notel in central Houston area

MajTom's Avatar
Hello gang,

Could somebody point me to a more or less decent notel in the central Houston area, if such an 'animal' exists there these days. Somewhere in the southwest Houston, Medical Center, Bellaire or Montrose would be good. The Palace Inn, at least the one on Hillcroft, stopped renting by the hour.

Thanks in advance!

Houston passed an ordinance prohibiting hourly hotel/motel rentals a couple of years ago, and I believe the authorities have gotten around to seriously enforcing it now. Lots of heat on the Hobby with an election year imminent and the sheriff stepping down to run for mayor. LE is cracking down on notels. Would probably be best if anybody with a suggestion sent you a PM and didn't post a name. Let's not rat out any place some ladies and gents might actually want to visit.
Wow!!
Thanks Fancy for the info about hourly notels, You rock hun!

Thanks Fancy! Your suggestion makes sense. I wasn't aware about the new regulations. I've been in the 'hobby' for many years and it wasn't a problem before. It seems that things are getting worse in Houston these days due to some cynical pseudo-puritanical politicians that sometimes turn out to be hobbyists themselves.

The Notels in the city limits are a 2-Hour minimum stay. They don't make you stay the whole time. Leave when you want.
Palace Inn, Crystal Inn.. both are fairly new, just outside of the medical center on Main St. and rent by the hour. There are too many on the SW side to name but one is the Pearl Inn is on the Beltway and 59.

The ones on Hillcroft stopped renting by the hour because it's on the track. They work with LE anyhow.
