Not an experienced street walker picker upper, but I think you were wide open to being busted. I would have said only "Hi" and asked her to get in the car. Cops, I think, won't do that. Then you drive a block and make some hand signals out of view and you should be good to go.

Search bissy on YouTube, you'll find plenty. It's entertaining on the one hand but a damn shame on the other because of the obvious unintended consequences of outing a monger, especially if he has a unique looking vehicle or if his plate is visible in the video, and many are.
