Brokered Convention? And who rides in to the save the day?

I don't think its ever happened, but more analysts are thinking that the GOP convention will roll around in Aug. without a candidate holding the required number of delegates to make them the nominee. At which point, the party leaders will retire to a nice smoke-filled room and name a party savior.

How realistic do you think this is? And who do you think will be the Lone Ranger to ride in and save the day?

It used to happen all the time. I doubt if it will happen now, but if it does, look for Jeb Bush to ride in on a white horse.

reminds me of an old locker room joke ...

two teams were playing, one with the best defense in the conference, the other with the best running back ... everytime the great back got the ball he was pounded to death by the other teams defese ... at half time the trainers attended the running backs broken nose, several dislocated fingers and cracked ribs. At the start of the 4th quarter, and losing 7-0 the coach kept screaminc from the sideline "GIVE THE DAMN BALL TO EDDIE" at least 10 times, but Eddie never got the ball ... The coach called time out and when the quarterback got to the sideline he screamed at the QB " I SAID TO GIVE THE GOD DAMN BALL TO EDDIE ... the QB looked at the coach and said "EDDIE DONT WANT THE GOD DAMN BALL"

Jeb dont want the damn ball either.

It last happened in 1976 with Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan. You may call that a "contested" nomination rather than a "contested" election because the two candidates were going to get the nom. If you want the ole dark horse scenario then you have to go back to the 1940s. So it has happened many times.

The young Mr. Bush is quite photogenic which won't hurt with the ladies and he is half Cuban. His wife is not bad at all.
