Violence In Des Moines...Its The AMPs!

I heard this on local radio today. It's the massage parlors that are causing all the shootings in Des Moines. Because they attract an unsavory (undesirable) element to the neighborhood. That's why we are having violence in Beaverdale now, too many AMPs there. Then when the national news started I heard an official from Chicago saying the same thing.
So we're going to blame peaceful, shy little people for the violence in the hood now. They're an easy target to prosecute and make it look like you're accomplishing something. Low hanging fruit. Because they can never infiltrate the gangs.

Lotus Spa over on Beaver and Urbandale seems to be creating an unusual amount of animosity. I have heard it come up in neighborhood association conversations, on Register comments, and elsewhere. I think it got shut down briefly (permanently?) too. Not sure why since I hear it is legit, something about the neighborhood I guess.

Some of the neighbors in that strip mall are holier than thou and think there's prostitution going on there, just because they see a mostly male clientele going in and out all day. I was never able to get so much as a tease at that place. They don't like Green Spa either (corner of Douglas and Beaver) similar Beaverdale residents. They are strictly legit massage. How do you just watch customers go in and out of a place and declare it's prostitution going on.
As far as "attracts an undesirable element", most of the guys I see there or know go to AMP's, are people with jobs and disposable income to spend. Blue collar construction workers to white collar execs. Not undesirable, as in people who don't work, who commit crimes, who are on the public dole. I think the other businesses are just jealous the AMPs have way more foot traffic than they do.

The spiike in violence in DSM does have some easily identifible common elements...but it sure as hell isnt AMPs or their clients. Thats just another way of avoiding talking about and dealing with the real cause. But yeah, blaming AMPs will get some bobble heads to nod and go on pretending....lol.
