Favorite Musicians are Dying at a Rapid Rate!

Mel Tillis yesterday.. David Cassidy is on his death bed.. Malcom Young this past weekend.

in less than 2 years, we also lost Lemmy, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Prince, Merle Haggard, Walter Becker (Steely Dan), Glen Campbell, and George Michael.. I have seen all 11 of these guys in concert. what's odd is I can't think of any women musicians who have parted recently. Donna Summer in 2012 is the last prominent female whom I have seen, that has departed.

anyway.. go see your favorite artist when he comes around.. it may be your last chance.

Whitney Huston passed in 2012 a few months before Donna Summer. I loved Donna back in the Disco days and later.

Also Amy Winehouse in 2011.

Christina Grimmie in 2016.

Yup, Chung its called getting old (like me) musicians , actors, providers retire etc the older we get the more of them kick it
Yessir Chung, it certainly hits hard when you realize some of them are the same age I am ..... and we lost Chuck Berry and Fats Domino too ..... but that creaky old bastard Keith Richards is 147 years old now and he's still rolling on while gathering no moss .....
BB King
Chester Bennington
Chris Cornell

I could have mentioned Scott Weiland, Chester Bennington, and Chris Cornell, all of whom died young. I listed Tillis because he left us hours earlier, granted he was not young

I had this wave of sentimental nostalgia envelope me when I saw wayne newton was appearing at the golden nugget in lake Charles last summer

while I never was a fan of wayne newton, seemingly in an instant, I suddenly became one and I went to see him

he was 76 and I thought it might be the last time

he cant sing any more but he tried, it was disheartening,

he played a few instruments, talked and showed old clips

actually I enjoyed his show in a sad wistful way in its reduced laid back paleness

pensive moods take hold of me, not when I think upon , but feel, our common humanity

Well, it was better than the Beach Boys version.

David Cassidy is now in the arms of God, he died today, 47 years to the day that his first single, "I think I love you", (under the Partridge Family banner.. actually only he and Shirley Jones sang on any of those records) hit #1 on the Billboard Top 100 singles chart.
