Good Eats

Hello Hobbywood,

I will be visiting SA, in November, for the first time. I have studied the review sites such as Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc., but I want good local intelligence on the best places to get Good Eats. Please share the local scoop. I also will probably be escorting one, or two, of your fine local talent to a nice romantic dinner. All suggestions are appreciated.

I really like Kirby's on N Loop 1604 near Stone Oak Blvd. Also recommend Flemings in the Alamo Quarry Market...they have a great happy hour menu.

Would help folks if you would outline your cuisine preferences. Also your provider type preferences!

The Gray Moss Inn in Helotes is my vote for the finest place to eat in South Texas. The Martins (Jerry and Mary) who owned it for years sold it about 5 years ago and I havent been there since but I still hear good things about it. They use to have one of the great wine selections in Texas and the stakes were great cooked in a deep pit by Jerry Martin. Dinning was outside under the trees and the location was so romantic the problem was finishing the meal before getting laid on the spot.
"Wait until we get in the car babe. You will shock Mrs. Grundy."

Service is a little pricy with entres around $25 so with wine expect about $100/couple.
The restuarant/bar inside the Embassy Suites Downtown...amazing!! It's A Chef John Besh restuarant called Luke.

And if you qualify, bet Likiniki could accompany you, and offer other treats as well.
Likinikki, Thank you for the tip. Would you care to join me? I hope so, since I have been screened.

Thank you to everyone for the tips. It is going to be a fun 4 days and nights. Play time for D2
