The Murphy bothers, Sean, Semus an Kevin, were at the gate to the stadium but had no money for seats. They decided to pass themselves off as athletes and get in free.
Sean picked up a telephone pole from the side of the road, put it under his arm, walked to the gate and said, "Murphy, Ireland, pole vault." They let him in.
Semus pried a man-hole cover from the sidewalk, cupped it on one hand, walked to the gate and announced, "Murphy, Ireland, discus." He was admitted.
Kevin, having observed his older brothers, spied a roll of barbed-wire, hoisted it in both hands, walked to the gate and proclaimed proudly, "Murphy, Ireland, fencing."
