FYI: Gas Price app

Just thought I'd share an awesome FREE app I found for both Android and iPhones.

The GasBuddy app finds the cheapest gas around you by distance or by price.

Of course we know New Braunfels has cheap gas now that Buc-ee's moved in but I've recently found cheap gas at the HEB @ Austin Hwy/Harry Wurzbach thanks to this app.

The two links above direct you to respective app stores.

Enjoy!

Just heard there is a gas station on culebra & el centro that gas at 2.96 a gallon.
Just be careful because I used the gas station that had the cheapest gas and it screwed up my vehicle. I took it to the mechanic and he told me that the gas I was buying was dirty and was clogging something in my car. He told us to get gas from a Chevron with that extra crap to clean it out.

That's why i've stuck with getting fuel at places that are reputable not the extra cheap places with the fuel pumps still from the 1980s

New Braunfels, for 3 weeks, has been underselling SA by 20 cents a gal. Paid 2.97 this past Saturday...Been as low as 2.93.

Big Tee - you're right on with the holding tank standards. I've seen a tanker go from a Chevron, to a Sac-n-Pac Valero to an independent (same truck and driver) all in the same day filling tanks. The gas comes from a wholesale distributor and all has the same qualities. If the tank at the location is dirty then you'll pick up gunk from their tank. If you notice, not too many tanker trucks anymore with the big retailer logos on them like Exxon, Mobil, Texaco and the like.

Don't know if any of that would help, but, it might?

I don't think that would work very well. The small mom-n-pop stations get their gas from the big boys too, they just buy more of it so they can sell more of it at a cheaper price. Just cancels out. Although staying home and not buying gas one day out of the week sounds like an excellent idea, I don't think many people would get the memo or listen and do what they wanted.
