Does it count as outing if a provider tells a client the real name and Facebook and all that of another provider?
And if this happens what is the penalty

#5 - Outing or threats of outing are taken seriously. Membership here is anonymous and for the privacy of our members it will remain that way. That means any effort or attempt to connect a person's real world information to their username *** on this board *** will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. This includes real names, employment, medical info, addresses past or present, images, criminal or driving record, etc. We expect everyone who participates here to respect and go to great lengths to protect the anonymity and privacy of one another. Reckless disregard or accidental outing will also be taken very seriously.

*** emphasis added ***

= = = = =

If read literally, means the outing is done on this site and may/may not apply to information disclosed elsewhere.

Otherwise, imo, outing anywhere is subject to discipline here or elsewhere, but that is jmho.

Each of us (and collectively, all of us in the hobby) should be very concerned about preserving the security of our own individual personal information and that of others.

Darn shame that doesn't happen often enough!

Somewhat related, what about RW information that is shared between eccie members via PMs but not in a public forum post? Could that also be considered outing?

For example, member A tells member B the real name and physical description of member C via a PM.

Is that act an outing, or only if the content of the PM becomes known?

Asking for a friend.
