The prosecution knows their case is lousy and are hoping that a jury will be biased enough to convict him anyways, which is a distinct possibility.

What's interesting, and will come out during the trial, is how Cohen used his personal assets to provide payment to Stormy- and then the moneys' were recorded as paid back in the form of attorney fee's. It's a likely common practice of keeping legal payments made on behalf of anyone off the books and then payments of reimbursements convoluted and obfuscated until there is shit like an audit. Finally- did the repayments become purposefully paid through a nefarious method and further covered up as being labeled as something they were not? And finally- were the monies intermingled with any election funds; to my understanding- both things happened. Even if they did, that money isn't coming out of 'that account'. It's coming from the business accounts and I'm sure his wife has ZERO access to that by design and for protection. Same way if you wanted to protect your family from lawsuits, you might put things in one name or many names, or a business name. But you gotta follow the laws associated to how those accounts are viewed by the state and local laws, as well as federal ones.
