Would this be the appropriate area to ask questions?

I wanted to make sure I'm posting in the right area. I know I've not really posted here at all, but I created this account a while back just in case. I'm not just new to the site (sort of), but also a little new to the hobby.

With that said, I know what I want but I just want to make sure that I follow accepted standards by everyone of how to get there. I'm not in a big hurry and I'm willing to put in the time and effort if it can help me find an appropriate person.

So basically I'm asking if this is the right area to ask questions about the hobby in general. I am in the DFW area.

This area is for asking questions that the staff can answer. If you want to start a discussion that includes questions about the hobby in general, you'll probably get the best response in the Co-ed Forum.
