I have had my Hitachi magic wand for probably seven or eight years. It’s still works but only on high or really high speed. What broke was the power surge box or the control speed box that went between the wand and the outlet. Has anyone ever had this happen or know how to fix it? Those things are expensive and I’d hate to have to buy a new one. I wonder if I can just buy that control speed box?
Honestly SS, you are better off just buying a new unit. Dallas just bought one for $55 and I'm sure to replace the part you think has gone bad, would be at least half that price, with no guarantee it will fix the problem. You say you have had it for 7 or 8 years...well...I think it's probably lived a full life and just needs to be replaced. I'm in the medical manufacturing world where warranties and "shelf life" rule. Any piece of equipment you get more then 5 or 6 years out of before it "dies" has lived its full life and needs to be replaced.
I still have mine as well. It's so loud I swear the neighbors can hear it. I've tried replacing it but the newer ones don't have the same power. I don't need a low setting, I always use it on high.
