Didn't someone post that the Jan 6 committee was gonna run away because they "Ain't Got SHIT!"???

For a change, our resident rage lava monster was dead wrong.

Seems like there's SO much damning new evidence against Twitler and his Turd Reich cronies as it pertains to his failed attempt to overthrow the 2020 election that the committee needs to get it all out there before the next act of violence by the DPSTs.

So far, there doesn't seem to have been much presented to avoid the conclusion that that rotten piece of shit should be prosecuted.

Jan. 6 committee announces surprise Tuesday hearing

Capitol riot investigators, citing "recently obtained evidence," changed course after deciding to pause their public events until July.

The Jan. 6 select committee, in a surprise announcement with about 24 hours’ notice, scheduled a Tuesday hearing “to present recently obtained evidence and receive witness testimony.”

It was not immediately clear whom the panel was calling to testify, nor what new evidence was being presented. But the sudden schedule change intensified intrigue in Washington, where the panel has mounted a carefully choreographed set of hearings about former President Donald Trump’s effort to subvert the 2020 election.

The shift was particularly jarring after the panel had foreshadowed a two-week hiatus to assess and analyze a flood of new evidence. The committee’s chair, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), told reporters last week that investigators were poring over new documentary footage from a British filmmaker who had access to Trump and his family before and after Jan. 6. The panel was also anticipating a new tranche of documents from the National Archives, due to arrive on July 8.

The committee had been planning at least two additional hearings in mid-July; one would be focused on the nexus between Trump’s orbit and domestic extremists like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, with the other zeroing in on Trump’s 187 minutes of inaction as violent supporters ransacked the Capitol and threatened the lives of lawmakers and then-Vice President Mike Pence.

Former VP’s chief of staff: Pence is not watching the Jan. 6 hearings

The panel had originally intended to hold roughly a half-dozen public hearings in June to present its findings, though investigators had cautioned the schedule was subject to change as new evidence emerged. The select panel has maintained its investigative work even as it ramped up its pace of hearings.

The Tuesday hearing plan quickly set Capitol Hill abuzz, even though details were sparse. Committee aides and members were tight-lipped about the substance of the hearing but were clear that it was scheduled with extreme urgency, interrupting what many of them had planned to be a quieter-than-usual week.

Documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, who had extensive access to the Trump family, met with investigators last Thursday morning after getting subpoenaed by the select panel for his recordings and testimony. And the panel also sent a letter to Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas also known as Ginni, seeking her testimony after evidence emerged she had exchanged emails with Trump-allied attorney John Eastman.

A Holder spokesperson declined to comment.

The committee is also battling dozens of active lawsuits from Trump allies and other witnesses, including several with key filing dates in the coming weeks. The House is currently out of session until mid-July, though committees are still meeting this week.

The select committee, until now, has focused its hearings squarely on Trump. Its first hearing laid out what the panel described as a seven-part effort by the former president to overturn the 2020 election.

Subsequent hearings have focused on elements of the plot it’s seeking to portray: how the Justice Department and Trump campaign debunked false voter fraud claims even as the then-president kept repeating them; how Trump built a campaign around pressuring Pence to single-handedly overturn the 2020 election on Jan. 6; how Trump leaned on state and local election officials to appoint alternative electors; and how Trump pressured his DOJ to legitimize the effort.

After initially claiming to be "basically unaware" of an effort by his staff to get fake presidential elector documents to Vice President Mike Pence, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday he coordinated with a Wisconsin attorney to pass along such information and alleged a Pennsylvania congressman brought slates of fake electors to his office — a claim that was immediately disputed.

Evidence presented this week by the U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol showed Johnson's chief of staff tried to deliver the two states' lists of fake presidential electors for former President Donald Trump to Pence on the morning of the U.S. Capitol insurrection but was rebuffed by Pence's aide.

Johnson initially told reporters last week he did not know where the documents came from and that his staff sought to forward it to Pence.

But he said in a Thursday interview on WIBA-AM that he had since discovered the documents came from Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, and acknowledged he coordinated with Dane County attorney Jim Troupis and his chief of staff by text message that morning to get to Pence a document Troupis described as regarding "Wisconsin electors."

Kelly's office immediately pushed back on Johnson's claim, saying: "Senator Johnson's statements about Representative Kelly are patently false."

"Mr. Kelly has not spoken to Sen. Johnson for the better part of a decade, and he has no knowledge of the claims Mr. Johnson is making related to the 2020 election."

Ten Republicans who convened at the Wisconsin State Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, signed paperwork falsely claiming to be presidential electors for Trump and mailed those documents to the U.S. Archive and Congress.

The Republicans contended they were submitting the paperwork in case Trump's loss was overturned. Former Republican Party of Wisconsin chairman Andrew Hitt told the Jan. 6 committee he would not have supported the use of the paperwork to overturn the election illegitimately.

An indictment of Trump will drop just after the election to try and give the news something else to talk about other than the Republican landslide.

Indictments are meaningless as the saying goes even a ham sandwich can get indicted. And that's exactly what this is meant to be. The process is the punishment and Dems in some Democrat controlled state... likely NY, or the Justice dept acting through a liberal state will attempt to try Trump.

It will be long and drawn out to maximally impact the primaries and potentially the election. Hopefully doing enough damage to Trump to prevent a win.

It won't work... because no President in modern times has been investigated so heavily. If he had bad dirt on him it would have been dug up already.

What's the worst you can say? He's sexist? I seem to remember a tale of a blue dress and how a mans personal character doesn't effect his job. Nobody cares.

When the ‘committee’ disallows anyone who’d refute their crap, you know they’re entirely full of shit. The only reason this ridiculous farce is going on is that they’re afraid of Trump running and winning again. They’d rely on stuffing ballot boxes again but there’s likely to be a lot more eyes on them, so trying to make it impossible for him to run at all is their only hope.
