But she did call the police and was on the phone talking to a dispatcher even before her ex brandished a weapon. Why did she call the police in the first place. Because they can do what she couldn't, plus they have guns. The only draw back is the police can't get to her fast enough.

Fortunately, the police arrived in time to apprehend the rapist, but not before he invaded her home, attacked her, and was in the act of raping her. In her case, police took only 5 minutes to arrive, if that. Rarely is it even possible for such a fast police response.

Bloomberg's ad is unspeakably moronic. It offers a shining example of why women should be armed and prepared to defend themselves.

See the angry ex-husband pounding on the door? Pick up the kid, go upstairs. Put the kid safely in a closet, grab the gun while calling 911. Point and shoot if necessary. Problem solved. She lives. He dies.

Bloomberg is for gun confiscation. Had organized a group of mayors with that as a goal but it fell apart.
