everybody drives something different and some dont drive at all but the price of oil effects everybody .


According to the mainstream news Russian oil made up 8% of what america was consuming .


If gas is lets use a nice round number like four dollars a gallon well then 8% of 4 dollars is 32 cents .


So as gas prices go above the 32 cent increase and as prices on everything else goes up remember that we are in the trusted hands of a administration that has chosen to appoint people like the secretary of energy who when asked how many barrels of oil a day the united states uses a day her reply was [ I dont know i dont have those numbers in front of me ].


I drive a 1918 stanley steamer it runs on water and coal and firewood not a 4x4 1 ton truck that gets almost 7 miles to the gallon so i could really give a shit thats why i wrote this ...

Driving a Stanley Steamer sounds better than a Cleveland Steamer.

If the energy secretary doesn’t know how much crude we use in a day that is truly scary.
On a personal note, I committed the ultimate blunder a couple months ago. I bought a diesel pickup. At the time it was a good decision for me. 25 mpg, and minimal additional initial cost for the engine I was pleased with my purchase. The premium for diesel vs. gas was only 40 cents locally so the payoff of better mileage was short term.
Fast forward a couple months, the spread is now a dollar plus and I’ll never recoup the added cost. I’m sure the resale of the vehicle has dropped also.

i have had almost 4 thousnd pounds in the bed and it barely made the truck squat but just not enough power for me .

Love my diesel truck, but less than one year old and started having problems with DEF. Had to wait 2 months for the part. Got it back just in time to put 5$/gallon diesel in it...

Guess I’m not the only dumbass. I’m very familiar with Diesel engines but not familiar with all the emissions junk. I hope I never find out. I does drive differently in the iowa hills. No shifting and no need to push down on the accelerator when climbing hills.

Why I expected the secretary of energy to know the fact of how many barrels the usa uses a day is because the day she got asked that question was Nov 23 2021 the day Biden released 50 million barrels from the strategic reserve .

She was interviewed shortly there after admitting that she didnt have a clue and was not consulted on the release ahead of time because she was appointed to the position simply to get votes from her gender geographic as she states her education and back ground are in a totally un related field .
