Credit Cards and the Hobby

I wanted to know the community's opinion of accepting credit cards in the hobby.
Theres always these new technological advances, so i assume things may have changed the last time the topic was brought up.

I know the common response is "no credit cards. No paper trails".
Is the "the SO or govt may find it" big enough a reason to not risk it?
Is there a way to successfully accept cc's?
Is there a best practice, to follow when accepting them?
How would you want the "transaction" to read on your statement?
Ladies, what are your thoughts as well?

Good idea? Or Bad idea? And why?
I was under the impression that it would be a bad idea. Imagine if hobbyist got caught by the S/O and had to call the credit card company to report "fraudulent charges to his account".
Cash always best, but I'm intrigued by use of the card. Some business owners might be able to write off the expense as long as the charge looks legit and explainable.

As Tracy states, any guy with an S/O (which is probably the majority here) would not go the CC route.

Single guys sometimes use CC for massages.

But for straight-up escorts, I don't think any guy would want a paper trail...that might be used in some legal issue that came up later.

New technology has not alleviated these concerns, and in fact tracking people has become even easier these days.
Yeah, and when you call the CC service to dispute extra charges and explain why they aren't, you will get..

lmao those commercials were great

FYI, you could do business as say, "Kit Kat Parts", which could easily be explained as automotive related expenses.
I actually prefer this method, and I would do much more hobbying if more providers offered this.
BTW MPK, I knew you weren't the run-of-the-mill kitty. You're far smarter than most!

I accept them and have for a very long time. It shows on their card transaction has a completely legit business.

As far as protecting yourself from them disputing the charge. In my several years, I have only had one and it was a douche bag that wasnt married. But their are ways to protect yourself from this as well. I have several guys that appreciate me having this option and utilize it bc its easier to explain a sales charge than x amount of cash pulled out of atm.

Do you plan on paying taxes or something?? Come on, now
mayorcastro, you sound shocked? I put my money in a bank, so I kind of have to pay taxes. The last thing I would want to do is fuck with Uncle Sam's money.
Interesting concept. I may think about it. @jezabelle, can I pm you with questions?

I would advised against doing credit cards because of the whole paper trail thing and for other reasons.

There are really great providers here who I trust and trust me, but those are few and far between.

How many of us guys really want to go around using a credit card with a provider and then that provider has our first and last name. Imagine you see that provider, and pay her with the credit card, than after she does the service, you have a crappy time, you write a bad review and then you have to worry about her getting her revenge by throwing around you first and last name and credit card # . No thanks. Don't think that won't happen. The alerts section is dotted with people providers who have outed personal information of their clients.

For providers who are accepting credit card transactions. Imagine you have a client who wants to be cruel and disputes the charge on his credit card. He either contests the charge as unrecognized or fradulent charge. You get a chargeback where the money the client paid you gets taken away from you and you get a chargeback fee which isn't always reversed whether or not you win the dispute. There are also more reasons available to dispute a charge than just unrecognized charges: they could say they used another form of payment, they showed up and didn't receive the service, you overcharged them, they had a shitty time.

Ayana Angel requests a refundable deposit for booking. Reviews indicated she actually does return it if the session does not take place. It was a nondescript name on the cc bill and it did not show up on my year end summary. Good for preventing NCNS. Good from the provider's end but providers learn hobbyist's actual identity by doing this. I didn't have an S.O. at the time so...meh. Gentlemen with someone at home would likely be more cautious.
What about if a guy just doesn't want a provider to know any of his real life info? Can this be avoided?

I think cash is best... Best for me, best for you... Just my opinion.
