Feel free to add to this, but here are some tunes that have had an impact on me in one form or another (in no particular order)-
10- "I Saw Her Standing There" (Beatles)- This was the first rock and roll song I remember really getting into. From the opening count off, I was hooked.
9- "Jailhouse Rock" (Elvis Presley)- This was the first rock record I ever owned, and I played the hell out of it! Yep, Elvis was a B.M.F. back then!
8- "Highway Star" (Deep Purple)- Even today, if I'm driving and this song is playing, I'll be doing 80 without a second thought.
7- "I Saw The Light" (Todd Rundgren)- Ah, takes me back to my first crush...as well as my first heartbreak...It was a nice summer in Huntington Beach, tho.
6- "In Bloom/Lithium" (Nirvana)- Two songs (among many) that showed me that rock wasn't yet lost to hair metal bands and corporate sponsorships.
5- "Riviera Paradise" (Stevie Ray Vaughan)- Takes me back to a very bleak time in my life. It may sound trite, but music does have a way (at times) to lead you from the dark moments. Rest in peace, Stevie.
4- "She's No Lady" (Lyle Lovett)- This one goes out to my ex-wife.
3- "Boogie Back To Texas" (Asleep At The Wheel)- I always play this tune whenever I cross the state line back into the Lone Star State.
2- "Master Of Puppets" (Metallica)- IMHO, the best Metallica song of the Cliff Burton era.
1- "Let There Be Rock" (AC/DC)- My introduction to heavy metal. Still gets my heart pumping 30+ years later.
As I said, these are in no particular order, and there are many other songs that I haven't listed here that mean just as much to me. Anyway, if you want to share your favorites, I'm all ears!
