What is Minnesota(Bloomington Area) known for?

I'm planning my 4th or 5th trip into town & though I know it doesn't get a huge amount of attention over here.. lol.
I was just curious what else (besides the huge mall) is there to see in town? Best places to eat? Best sights to see that might be more local?

I'm going to do a bit of exploring this trip!

Thanks you guys!
Xoxo.

Thrillist has a really good list. If you're in town this week the MN state fair is going on and the RenFest is going every weekend for the next month or two. First Avenue is a cool historic venue if you're into music. Chilling out on a rooftop in Uptown is always fun. We have so many water features, you could never see them all. From Minnehaha Falls to the "chain lakes" to Lake Minnetonka, there is so much to do. If you like the idea of Lake Minnetonka, I suggest staring in Excelsior. It's a nice little lake town that will give you a feel for lake life around here.

Enjoy!
