Mississippi/Alabama 45 line ....question

?

I travel 45 N/S a few times a week. It's a straight route from my front door to Mobile. I know I'm an old broad. But I'm not blind. I've seen a commemorative statue right at the Alabama line on 45N about a quarter to a mile over the MS/AL line.
Yet....
I've Not seen it these last few times I've driven the 45. I LOOKED again today, on my way home.
Was it removed or destroyed? Seems like it was a part of Alabama history.
I drive that stretch of road a lot myself and know the monument you are talking about but i honestly haven't paid any attention to it lately since its always been there. I guess you are way more observant than me lol.

Yes, I'm observant. Especially when I have to drive that stretch of rd in the dead of night (which is a lot, EVERY week).
That statue let's me know I'm approaching the Mississippi line and how long I have till I get home.
I’ve seen that statue, just never stopped to see what it’s about.....

I slowed my roll yesterday as I drove down 45 south to Mobile.

It was Right before Yellow Pine Church.
It's definitely gone. However, the slab of concrete is still there.

So now I'm curious as to the reason for it's removal and what it represented??
Given that across the country, many century old statues are being pulled down for one reason or another.
