Hampton's effective leadership and talent for communication marked him as a major threat to the FBI. It began keeping close tabs on his activities. Investigations have shown that FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover was determined to prevent the formation of a cohesive Black movement in the United States. Hoover believed the Panthers, Young Patriots, Young Lords, and similar radical coalitions Hampton forged in Chicago were a stepping stone to the rise of a revolution that could threaten the U.S. government and society.--quote off the wiki link above
The fraud fred was trying to combine and organize the gangs for a revolution.

But I guess we have come along way when the Obama administration was not interested in a Black Panther in uniform was standing in front of a polling place with a billy club in hand. He should have been arrested on the spot. I have no knowledge of Fred but if he was shot in his bed, unarmed and not resisting, then law enforcement became the "gang" on that day.
If asked the one thing I would like to see from our government, is the "removal" of all violent gangs in America. It's my number one priority because it hurts the poorest among us and they have enough to deal with without worrying about their kids being shot on the streets of Chicago and other urban communities in this country
