The referee in the USA - Slovenia game was participating in his first World Cup match. While that is no excuse for his incompetence (5 yellow cards were given and only two were warranted), he should have provided an explanation to Bocanegra (US Captain) after he blew his whistle. In any event, the US needs to win against Algeria on Wednesday (9:00 AM - ESPN) to advance; or draw and hope that England - Slovenia is a draw and that the total goals England scores on Wed. are at least 2 less than the US (US holds a 3 - 1 goal differential).

After the poor performances of Spain, Germany and England over the last week, I believe that the Netherlands, Argentina and Brazil have the best chance of competing in the final match.

OH the US has a team?
