Iraq: Where & When?

I got out of the US Marines before 9-11....after Iraq kicked off...I wanted back in the game. First came to Iraq in 2004, but as a security contractor....still running around the city.....no Fobbit here.

2004: Az Zubayer, Najaf, Al Amarah, Karbala
2005: Najaf, Mosul, Tikrit
2006: Tikrit, Baghdad
2007: Baghdad, Tallil
2008: Tallil
2009-2011: Baghdad

Currently in the IZ (Green Zone)....our camp alongside the Palace (old Embassy) closed and now living at Camp Travis (in case anyone else has lived here).

Chime in with when you were here and where you were based.....Fobbit status optional.

I lived on Travis from December 2009 until May 2010, I was part of Nato's training mission to Iraq, Lived right across from the DFAC and the green bean next to the GYM.

2004 through 2006, 1st Cav then 10th Mt. Stationed at Camp Liberty. R/S patrols was our job. God will judge our foes, we will arrange the meeting.

2003, Initial phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom, part of the invasion fleet that started it. (Navy)

OIF 9-11, Al-Salahad Din (Sahldin/Sahldeen/Salahuddin/etc) all over, from Tikrit (COB Speicher) to Mortarittaville (sp) (JBB/Balad) and PBs and AOs in between. Army, Eleven Bang Bang...
