June's been tragic month this year for our Military. God bless you all!

While recently watching NBC Nightly News. They spoke of the 27 deaths that have taken our American soldiers, this month alone.
They showed unedited footage of (Charlie Company) soldiers attending a ceremony for one of their own whom was recently killed.
Only to return to camp & within minutes come under fire by the Taliban.
The footage was heartbreaking to watch.

I have much respect and admiration for the men & women who serve our country & wear those uniforms. I hope to shake your hand one day. Because in the meantime. I shed the tears and silently ask the Lord to watch over you all.
Be well and return home safely. Let's not forget their loved ones waiting for their safe return.
That was nice of you WM!!! Personal experience it isnt a joke over there with the Taliban. I thought it was more like Iraq in some areas but no I hear about it on a daily basis from ppl i know over there and it sucks that people have to go through that type of life experience. Always be greatful for what you have, dont get greedy, and praise GOD for those who fight for us---they are truely hereos!!
My prayers go out as well! This was such a sweet post, WM! I definitely have a soft spot for military! You guys are definitely always on my mind! <3

Sadly, 2 more American soldiers died today, in Afghanistan.
Bringing the unfortunate loss to 52 of our American soliders who've died this month.
And to top it off. The military burn pits are silently killing our men & women at war. (from the inside out). When is enough enough??

Let's keep them and they're families in our prayers.

Be careful, be well and return safely!

God bless you ALL!!

I'm in my fourth year in Iraq. It's amazing how successful we've been here compared to how it was in 2004-2005. We used to take indirect fire daily and feel IED detonations several times every week. I've been back four months and...nothing. Plenty of bad stuff still happens and each is a tragedy, but compared to how it was, a complete turnaround. I only hope Patraeus is as successful in OEF as he was here.

I'm lucky; I don't have to go outside the wire to do my job. I have tremendous respect for those that do. They are the real warriors. I've convoyed with them, carried their ammo, and carried injured to safety, but I couldn't do what they do daily.

One of the things I love about living in San Antonio is the support for the military. It sure beats living with flag-burners, which I have. SA is a class act. Thanks for the reminder, WM.

Thank you so much for the reminder of what our Soldiers are dealing with in Afghanistan WM. I've served nearly three years total there and thankfully made it home safely each time. Not a day goes by that I don't think about our fellow Americans serving there still... especially the ones who never will make it home.

God bless all who serve and those they love at home that have to sit and wait on them to come home.

WM I'm actually offended by your post. It's so dripping with phoney-sounding, exaggerated heart-pulling, tear-tugging, God-mentioning words that it's offensive to us who are really hurting from our experiences "over there."

Everyone and their mother likes to spew exaggerated praise and tear-jerking rhetoric for servicemen, usually to serve their own ends.

Next time be more convincing with your exaggerated rhetoric. You're very unconvincing.
Ouch!

My thoughts and prayers are on the men and women who serve our country. Men & women whom I'm blessed to be in constant contact with on a daily basis and proud to know.

If your offended by folks caring for others. Then go away silently and enjoy your life. Your comments are unwarranted and out of line. And quite frankly meaningless & disgusting.

The reason for this thread. Is to bring to light that as we go about ENJOYING our lives. We can and may take for granted & may often times forget the men & women in combat for the freedom we enjoy.
