Texas Hotels

I'm just new to Texas and going to make a Rt 35 tour first week of June, and would like to stay a couple nights in Austin, Waco, DFW areas.
Can anyone recommend any hotels in these areas that are freeway convenient and nice, yet reasonable?
I generally like a room w/microwave and frig.

I spend 5 to 6 nights on the road every week, staying in hotels all over Texas, and know 35 way better than I want too (and I mean - Way better!)
