How Did You Find Out About This World?

I have never thought of myself as a naive person, but I still can visualize the moment I found out about this world.

I had a horny moment and googled the adult film star Keisha, who was more well-known to those of us that entered puberty in the '70s and '80s. There on her official site were two banners that stated she was TER-rated and Big Doggie-rated. I thought to myself, wtf are these ratings---are they the AAA of adult films??

So I clicked through and the rest as they say, is history. For the balance of that day I was net-surfing with I imagine my mouth wide open and mentally repeating "Holy Shit". Although I was certainly turned on to a degree, the more overwhelming sensation was of shock and amazement. It was that literal moment when you are taken behind a curtain to see something you never knew existed.

Up until then, I honestly thought that escorts were women (and men) that were available for social events because the protocol for those events dictated attendance by couples, etc.

Do you remember the first time you learned about P4P?? What were your initial reactions??
Hubby and I were staying in a hotel due to our apartment catching on fire. I knew he was stressed out due to being homeless, trapped in a small hotel room, having no clothes, and I was 3 months pregnant. I wanted to do something extra nice to provide some stress relief. Snatching up the local yellow pages, I started calling...finally contacted a lady willing to help me surprise him. About 5 mins before she was due to be there, I leave the money on the night stand, and made an excuse to leave. I headed down to the bar of the hotel and sipped on a beer, watching people play pool.
About 30mins later, hubby came down to the bar...really nervous and laughing...he was so freaked out, he wasn't sure what he was suppose to do. She had to dominate him, and only after 15mins, he let her go...how funny!
I had a friend who knew a massage therapist who gave "extras". She was looking for someone to help her out and he recommended me because "I was the most open-minded person he knew".

After several discussions with her and saying over and over: No, I could never do THAT! I agreed to give it a try.

I found that not only did I enjoy giving massages, the fun part was actually pretty well, FUN!

I felt really naive because I always thought that all those massage ads were just for massage! Imagine that!

I think my full blown understanding of P4P was in my younger days. Lets say I fully comprehended the concept long before I could participate.
I've posted elsewhere about having a step father who use to do "body painting" at a strip/dance club in Houston many years ago. I didn't see any illicit activity but I also thought it was pretty cool those girls got to stand on the table and dance and guys would watch. hehe. Plus I'd read a lot of graphic adult comic books growing up.
But even though I was aware of the activity going on out in the world, my life took a different path initially, but I finally found my way here and I've been very happy ever sense and have some wonderful friends because of it.

BTW Tiffany I love your post, that was very sweet of you. I bet there are lot of guys who wished they'd had a wife/partner like you!

I don't know when I first found out about P4P. In 2006 I knew about: High-end ladies that a concierge would call for hotel guests; and streetwalkers, bar girls, and massage plus providers.

If I'd thought about it I would have assumed I was too old and heavy to be a concierge-arranged lady (I thought they would be model types). And the visibility of the other business-style arrangements would have made those avenues a definite "no" for me.

A childhood friend was passing through Dallas and suggested we go out for brunch. Over eggs benedict I asked what brought her to Dallas. She told me she was now a travelling escort . We had a nice long talk and a seed was planted.

She helped me understand screening, review sites, places to advertise, and arranging rendezvous over the internet so I could be relatively safe and also anonymous.

Finding out about internet escorting and the market for mature (over 40) ladies were the mind-blowers for me.
I knw the feeling you're talking about. I basically always knew there was such a thing as providers, but really had no idea what it was like. Googled "dallas escorts" and eros, which eventually led me to TER, which led me to ASPD, which led me to ECCIE. That first day I purchased premium access to TER and was just amazed at what I read.

I mean I knew what (& in a limited sense participated in) P4P was before Google, but I found these sites by accident. This is a pretty private hobby; not something your buddy tells you about over a beer or round of golf.
Had always seen the ads in the yellow pages and figured they were scams or stings. It wasn't till a few years back (early to mid '07) that I was down in Rockport, Tx and saw the typical CL news report coming from a channel out of Corpus Christi, Tx. I remember it showed exactly where to look on CL and explained what some of the 'code' (pricing & alphabet soup) meant. From there I noticed a few ladies w/ aspd in their ads, so I checked out aspd.......and the rest, as they say, is history.

I was in Nevada one year ago, consistently earning almost 10X my currently hourly rate, poshed up, dolled up in a 5-star suite with VIP access. I knew the Texas hobby would be Plan B if something went wrong, which it did, having to abandon a "playground" for serious-ness. I will say, Vegas is where it is at! It's liberating to know that I was once one of those girls who charged an hourly fee higher than HDHs.

As a teenager, I had come to know what the term "whorehouse" meant..... even conservative "Westerns" like "Gunsmoke" were pretty liberal in their depiction of "Saloon Girls"!

It wasn't until my early 20's, in 1981 or '82 that I was introduced to the "Real Thing"..... Mr Lucky's in Morgan City, LA. It was just a popular "side of the highway" bar, serving the oilfield construction industry, with house trailers in the rear. The Parish (County) Sheriff was co-owner at the time. They brought-in girls from "out of town" to work weekly schedules, as "companions" for the working guys. Very casual operation.... simple mingling with the girls in the bar... if you found a mutual connection, you paid the man at the back-door, and the two (or more) of you had fun "out back" in one of the trailers. Gawd, I miss those days!

It didn't take long before I was introduced to the back pages of Gambit Weekly and other local New Orleans area rags.... and I haven't been bored since!

"EscortAmerica".com was probably my first major internet connection to the hobby.... followed closely by "NewOrleansEscorts.com"... .. which was a very fine-fine down home board!! ASPD was soon to follow....

I've gone on, to enjoy working girls on six of the seven continents.... I wonder what "action" is like down in Antarctica?

Life is Good.... What a Hobby!!

Mine is very similar to big buddha. Heard around about CL and was checking it out for a few weeks when an ad mentioned ASPD. Googled it and spent a couple of hours a day for about 3 months reading posts and learning about the hobby. I was mesmerized at how easy it was and how it was not as seedy as I had always believed it to be.

I was aware what p4p was at an early age, but I had the impression it was just a very seedy experience for the average Joe (so unless you had big $$$ it was not an expereince you wanted). I had enjoyed the occasional strip club while traveling in Vegas ... but that was mainly just groping. My real education started when I moved back to Houston in my 40's and after spending a shitload of money (for me ... over $20K) in strip clubs, my first year back in houston ... a guy I met told me to try Treasuries. After stand around for awhile a girls comes up to me and grabs my package and asks if I want to dance ... I of course said yes ... when we sit down and she starts the dance, the first thing she does was to unzip my shorts ... well a few weeks later I meet a girl (I got a nice BBBJ from her) that tells me she works in a stress management place (Escape ...) and to come see her. Of course I wasn't really aware what a stress management place was, but once I visited my eyes were opened to how easily accessible the hobby was ... then shortly after that a provider told me about ASPD and that further opened my eyes.

I was always aware of p4p and had an overactive interest in the entire prospect. I traveled all over the country with my parents. My dad was in the energy business and I got an eye opening at a pretty early age, primarily with regards to bars and clubs.
When I was about 17 (in 1976) the cops busted a local brothel. The newspapers gave more than enough information for an enterprising teen to figure out who and where things were happening. Before the internet, the local library with city directories etc had enough information, you just had to put the information together. Yes, I did cut class to go to the main library to research a term paper.

In our area, fun was located just outside city limits. In these days you couldnt legally buy a drink in a bar in OK, so places just outside the city limits or county line were ripe for "liquor by the wink" and other services. For you Okies, the Avalon just west of Tulsa comes to mind no doubt.

Having a well paying part time job I pretty much had all the pieces put together and made a cold call to a Miss Kitty type provider. Enough research (and looking far older than my age) got my foot in the door (and other parts of me elsewhere.) She was an excellent reference. I was OK'd by her, remained discrete, my wallet was my only limitation. LOL with no internet and pay phones, seems so rudimentary now.
Over the years it was hit and miss although in this state were was a growing MP industry pretty much out in the open. Neighboring state line cities were also pretty ripe for the picking, with establishments set up next door to each other with those yellow portable signs along the street.
LEO crackdowns came along in the mid 90s and the market shrunk. The MPs were more cautious so repeat visits were necessary before any amenities were provided. The upside of this was that clients and providers knew each other better than walkins and the quality of the experience was generally better.
Several MP employees branched out to either go indy or do both offering services to disrete MP clients, thus pocketing door fees in addition to the gratuity. Several local MP techs went in together on a garage apartment to offer indy services to select clients. LOL there was a scheduling "calendar" kept in a box on the back porch of the apt, so if you showed up, you checked the calendar, retrieved the key from where it was hidden and let yourself in. Occasionally schedules would conflict, and actually that was when the fun began on more that one occasion.
Fast forward a few years to Prodigy, Compuserve, AOL and then the web as we know it now. Well, you all know that story.
