LOL Just yesterday I rediscovered a book I have which has tons of smart-ass answers like supposedly that submitted by teachers and workers all over the U.S. That problem is the one that's on the cover, actually.




BTW, the answer is 5 since, A2+B2=C2

Blah! It should be superscripted 2's to read A "Squared" etc., but I guess the forum doesn't allow that code...

You can write it as follows. For any exponential x, you can write it A^x.

so that it becomes...

A^2 + B^2 = C^2

If you are going to do roots, then you just use the inverse property, so that...

A^(1/x)

For example, the square root of four, can be written as follows...

4^(1/2),

But just know that there is a shortcut for square roots, and it is written as follows...

SQRT(A) = A^(1/2)

WRONG.
