Why do y'all call hookers escorts?

Especially if you go to their incall, They don't escort you anywhere. What's wrong with hooker or prostitute?

Generally, the gents that prefer to use terms with better connotations are guys who would rather not be called tricks or johns.....or they just don't want to hurt the feelings of the ladies out there.
