That's one way to start getting costs down. And hey, it's untaxed

My understanding of a salary is that is the amount you are paid for the designated time frame regardless of the hours worked, no more, no less, excluding things such as bonuses.

Hourly meant you were paid for the time you actually put in and anything over 40 hrs was overtime.

An assumption made by many. You can be a salaried non-exempt.

DOL has a whole test for it

Most Exempt professional roles, are different in that you are not mandated to work but suggested to work OT to complete workloads as expected as an outcome.

I think all work should be OT eligible. Working for 50-55 hours a week sucks when you think you're being taken advantage of for either straight time or non-payment of OT.

Sure he did. Did he tell you there was tax on no overtime?
I’ve been exempt since 1990 averaging 8 hours a day till 2005 with that company.
Went with a different company in 2005. For the first 5 years with this company I regularly put in 12-14 hour days.
The last 5 years or so I rarely put in more than 8 hours the last 2 something like 4 hours a day.
From the start with the present company since 2005 I come and go as I please, doesn’t get any better than that too me!

Sounds like you're ripe for more responsibilities or someone else to be sitting in your spot
