Why do You Cheat?

I wrote this (Link) before the whole Arnold thing came to light but it just goes to show you that most men will stray at some point in their life.

Why do you stray???? Has it only been in the hobby? Have you ever been caught?

Personally...(and here is my denial and rationalization). Its genetic. Take it back to time primordial when our species needed to spread the seed. Men would go to the river bank, raid, rape, pillage and take. This is how we insured hybrid vigor, its how we insured diversity.
Fast forward to modern man... the genetic code is still there. It just is. We learn how to contain ourselves but with the yoke of rules and societies norms. Which of course is necessary.
But there isnt a man with decent levels of testosterone that wont partake if he knows he wont get busted. No one in their right mind wants to hurt a loved one. No one with a good relationship wants to ruin it.... i said "right mind"
But having said that, the inexorable pull toward new strange is overwhelming at times. Variety is good. Hurting a loved one is bad. Hence the dilemma.
I love variety... i love the feel of a new woman. But i love my family more... so i will never cheat with a civvie. Thank the gods for providers.

I've never cheated....

I was chatting with a retired provider about this very subject. Or more to the point about lying to Mrs. SRO. She thinks if I continue to stay married to Mrs. SRO I should stop lying about it. I countered that I am not prepared for that turmoil. Granted doing it first rather than her finding out I've been playing around might make some sense. I tend to think of myself as honest and a straight shooter except in this one arena of my life. As to the reason(s) for straying she is older than me by a considerable amount (she know cougar before it came into being). Her drive has diminished. Lastly she used to like/love my oral. In the past bunch of years she declines it for a variety of reasons. I hear "no thanks" enough that I almost don't bother offering. Whereas my "dates" (either professional or sugar babies) seem to think my oral is okay. Mrs. SRO has been suspicious of late so I have tempered my chatting. I have a feeling she thinks something is going on. And obviously rightly so. As to how long? Hmmm nothin' new. And Alex I liked the blog post. It was really timely in my case.

But, I understand the reasoning behind it. But it should be something that has been thought about before its done.
