RGV Social

It has been some time since our last social, and the times we have tried plans have fallen through. :sad1:

I think sometimes we plan to far ahead, so maybe an impromtu gathering would work better. I think 2 weeks gives us enough time to work out scheduling and other situations.

I propose a gathering around the 30th of April. I would like to get a poll and see how many would be interested and then move from there.

Please post here or pm me. Any input, thoughts, or feedback is appreciated.

I think that those with families may have trouble attending an event on their own during the weekend.

Am I being naive and showing how much of a newbie I am thinking this?

Weekends are bad for me too

Cool, another social!!! The last social we had was awesome. I am very interested but I and another valley provider will be out of town that weekend. Maybe during the week would be better. If its another time, you can count me in.

I like the idea of a social, unfortunately highly unlikely I could attend.

Ok so the weekend isn't a good time, can someone suggest another day? Friday afternoon? or Thursday?

Weekends are better for me, during the week is terrible unless its at night. But my schedule is peculiar.

A social sounds great!! I'll be glad help. Sounds like we need some more input as far as what day and time. With some notice, I can make it anytime, weekends or weekday. We could do it on a Thursday late afternoon and make it last thru the evening.
Any other thoughts?

OK. My workload has been such that I have not had a time to adequately plan a social for either the RGV or Corpus Christi. I am willing to help out and get one going.

During the week is always better for guys and gals to get away. The socials here in Corpus usually start at noon and go well past midnight. That way anybody who has work issues during the day can still make it at night. It is not unusual for people to come and go during the social.

That being said, if someone want to take the reins and handle the logistics of a location, food, drinks, etc.....I will handle the invite list to make sure everyone is screened properly. This is the most important task of a social. I can help and give suggestions for the logistics but having someone actually take care of them there in the valley is very beneficial to me. If you want to be on the planning committee, please pm me and we will get this thing going. Either a Tuesday or Thursday appears to be the best days for these social based on my past experiences.

I like Thursdays.

The idea of having on a Thursday is appealing. Also the idea of starting at noon and going late gives most everyone a chance to attend.

Thursday is good. I agree, it'll be better to have it soon rather than to schedule it too far out. Making sure that the ladies will attend is key, I've been to one gathering and there was only two ladies. El Gato, are you putting it together? Saludos!
