After taking in $85 million domestic with "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," it seemed like director Adam McKay and star Will Ferrell were destined to make a follow-up... and they did. Three more times, in fact -- 2006's "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," 2008's "Step Brothers" and 2010's "The Other Guys." But none of them concerned the continuing adventures of Burgundy and his Channel 4 Action News team.

...until now. Ferrell stopped by "Conan" tonight in character to specifically announce that Paramount was moving forward on a sequel to "Anchorman." (You can check out the clip below.) Deadline goes on to confirm that McKay will return as director, Judd Apatow will once again serve as producer and both Paul "Brian Fontana" Rudd and Steve "Brick Tamland" Carell will reprise their roles. (Whither Dave Koechner as Champ Kind?)

Well, are we excited for the return of everyone's favorite sexist jazz flute enthusiast? Does this news take you to the proverbial Pleasure Town or leave you stranded on Whore Island?

Good thing you said something. Announcing it on Conan assured no one would see it until the janitor leaked it.

That news was on "Funny or Die' YESTERDAY DAYTIME! Does this mean the janitor thing was the truth?
And Just when I was all excited about Anchorman...they announce that the sequel to DUMB and DUMBER with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back is coming back

'Dumb And Dumber 2' Set To Film This Fall With Jim Carrey And Jeff Daniels

You can go ahead and erase any trace of "Dumb and Dumberer" from your memory. We will finally have a true follow-up to the original 1994 comedy.
ComingSoon.net recently spoke with Peter Farrelly during the "Three Stooges" junket, and one half of the brotherly duo confirmed that "Dumb and Dumber 2" is set to go in front of cameras later this year.
"We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September," Farrelly said. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."

Understandably, Farrelly wanted to make clear that he and his brother had nothing to do with 2003's "Dumb and Dumberer."
"We did not do 'Dumb and Dumberer,'" Farrelly said. "That was a studio thing. So we've always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, 'We've got to do this thing again.' He had just watched 'Dumb and Dumber' and he said, 'This is the perfect sequel. Let's do it.'"
